“Ethan was using the table saw to cut a part for his project. He cut the board, turned the saw off but immediately reached under the guard to remove the scrap piece. The blade was still turning and his finger made contact. The saw stopped the blade and Ethan got a small cut on the end of his left index finger. I told him to go see the nurse but he refused; he only wanted a band-aid. I had him wash the small cut with soap and water and he applied the band-aid.”

“I asked to see the student’s hand. Just as in the demos, I saw a 1-2mm kerf on his finger tip. The student did not even comprehend what had happened. His finger wasn’t even really bleeding. This saw saved my student’s finger from severe injury.”

“I believe he would have lost his thumb had it not been for the SawStop technology. We have over 500 students per year through our woodshops and have not had a significant accident in over thirteen years. Your saw prevented what would have been the second. The saw works! A shop teacher’s dream come true. I sleep better at night!”

“One of my students was ripping a piece of solid stock black walnut. During the cut, the board started to come off the fence at which time his middle finger on his left hand was pulled into the blade. Fortunately for the student, the other students in the room and me, my next tasks of the day were getting the student a band-aid and ordering a new cartridge instead of calling for an ambulance. I’m amazed at how scary the incident was to both the student and me. The rest of my day went a whole lot better than it would have had we not had SawStop table saws in our school woodshop.”

Chris was ripping a 2X8 piece of oak during woodshop class when the off cut caught an edge and his left index finger hit the front of the blade. Had that happened on another saw, Chris’ shop teacher thought that Chris would have amputated 3 fingers below the first knuckle. As it turned out, his injury required only 3 stitches.
“The SawStop saved Chris’ fingers along with a lot of medical bills. The school bought the saw in February 2007. Thank goodness they did! My students learned a valuable lesson and [the school avoided] the chance of a lawsuit over medical bills.”

“My student must have reached under the guard and heard the “thump” of the saw blade before she knew she was hurt. She had a small 1/8” X 1/4” surface wound on her left thumb which was cleaned out and bandaged by the school nurse and returned to class before the period ended. This injury would have been much worse and most likely would have resulted in a trip to the emergency room if not for the safety feature of the saw. I am so impressed with the saws that we own two of them.”

“Any educational shop that does not provide this level of safety is being negligent. This technology is revolutionary. I no longer worry that somebody will be injured using our table saws when I'm at work or away. These table saws actually let me sleep better at night…Priceless.”

"As the Construction teacher at Swift Current Comprehensive High School and a Journeyman Carpenter, I was relieved to have, one of our four Sawstop saws, do as it should when a student came in contact with the blade. He was ripping a piece of spruce stock and his support hand came in contact with the blade.
"The cut was just below the first knuckle of the thumb and in my opinion, had it been any other saw, he would have lost it. The injury consisted of a slight cut, which the medical professionals saw fit to glue back together with crazy glue, as stitches were not necessary.
“The reason for our desire to share this story is due to our complete satisfaction with the product. It has made our school a safer place to work and learn. In 20 years of using table saws, these saws are the finest operating saws I have used and seen. The added technology truly makes them superior to any other.”

"Last year, the University bought our Materials Lab a new SawStop saw. Such foresight and generosity has saved me a layer of worry and the university a great measure of worry and liability, not to mention my grad assistant's lack of pain and suffering. My grad assistant set off the safety feature on our new table saw and walked away with a minor scratch. Not even a bandage was needed! Due to our new SawStop table saw there was no incident to report. The blade retracted so fast that my grad assistant didn't know what happened. He called me and told me he had broken the saw. It took me five minutes to replace the blade and safety cartridge. A minor cost compared to the alternative. I also made it clear to my assistant what he did wrong and the simple steps he needs to take to avoid doing it again. This is a valuable lesson without the pain, one that he can pass on to our students and in his future career."

“Thank you! Thank you! Our school purchased a new SawStop several months ago. Today, that saw saved one of our student's thumbs.”
“One of our sophomores was cutting on the table saw and encountered a situation where his thumb ran into the blade. BANG! The saw stopped rotating and dropped out of sight. We looked at his fingers and found a slight paper-cut-like scratch on his thumb. He was also able to walk away from the shop and say, today I made a mistake, but I still have all my fingers. Once again, thank you!”

“I just wanted to tell you that it is unreservedly the best table saw I have ever used. It is expensive compared to other cabinet saws but it is worth every penny. Just the peace of mind we have knowing that our kids are “safe” from amputation is worth it. Apart from the safety aspect, the saw is quality, quality, quality. Even down to the manual. I just love starting up that saw and running lumber through it knowing that the riving knife or the blade guard are doing their job without compromising the accuracy of the cut. Our previous saw was a relatively recent General Int. cabinet saw. Next to your product, it’s junk. I just wish we could buy all of our saws with this technology. Congratulations on a truly excellent product. It’s a tool I actually look forward to working with.”
